She's electrofying

Meet Ladyhawke....

Looking for a means of transportation back to the '80s? fuck the time machine, listen to this beaut!

Ladyhawke delivers massive amounts of skill that we should all be envious of!

probably known best for her track 'my delirium' Pip Brown a.k.a Ladyhawke (named after the 1985 film.... that's right you guessed it... Ladyhawke) is bloody fantastic. her album 'Ladyhawke' introduces some of the best electro pop I have ever experienced!

her first track on the album 'magic' sounds very similar to Depeche mode's 'enjoy the silence' and to be fair, that just puts the whole record into motion.....

Quality turned commercial

Over the past year or so now I haven't shut up about all these bands that started off with such potential! and eventually fall into the robotic world of the music industry....

Kings Of Leon really grind my gears, don't get me wrong, I think they're phenomenal, but 'only by the night' has really opened my eyes to the harsh reality of music, if you listen to some of their earlier albums,

'Because of the times' 'Youth & young manhood' 'Aha shake heartbreak'

all classic albums. Listen back on them, like 'molly's chambers' or 'the bucket', well known songs, granted. But just compare them to 'use somebody', you'll see where i'm coming from!

Whenever a band eventually makes it, they haven't got the balls to keep on exploring their musical boundaries for way too many superficial reasons. This is where major labels play their part, when you sign to a major record label, they CAN help you but only if you do WHAT THEY WANT YOU TO DO!

as Lennon once said,
"i don't believe in the Beatles, I only believe in me"

That sort of mentality will help anyone in this world! don't let yourself fall into the pattern, break the mould! believe in yourself and pay not attention to what's 'expected of you' you'll earn a shit load more respect exploring uncharted waters, than sticking to what you know....

DON'T EVEN GET ME STARTED ON PENDULUM!

i give a fuck about an oxford comma!

Fair enough, Vampire Weekend have been going for a while, but i need to emphasize how good they are!

agree?

it's just music we don't hear enough of! I'm not going to bullshit and go on about how i've loved them like since forever.... it's just good upbeat music, kind of proves the music doesn't have to be all talent, take a look at the cribs for instance (best known for 'mens needs' and girls like mystery') if you don't know them.... dig it! but they use simple guitar riffs... it's light and effective...

UNFORTUNATELY

such bands like the Wombats and/or One Night Only (one exception; 'it's about time'.....only good song by One Night Only) and especially the fucking Kooks completely decimate the point above.... preferably they should sprout some talent, and make some decent music, but.... this will never happen, which is a shame, but in all fairness.... the Kooks should just die.

enough about that..... enjoy the quality Vampire Weekend have =D

Shalom!

It's 'classic'al for a reason

If times are tough, which considering this is a recession we're in, then Claire de Lune is the piece for you, Debussy delivers an absolutely awesome bit of piano work, fair enough, it's from the early '60s but in all honesty, is that not the best time for classical music?

Known most famously these days as the sound track to the perfume advert, acted (diabolically for that fact) by Nicole Kidman and that bloke who was obviously gay... ring any bells? naa, didn't think so!

anyhoo......

Like the 80's?

Aztec Camera?!?!
and Tears for Fears of course

heard them on an advert, and 'somewhere in my heart' is possibly one of the best tunes of the 80's the fact they're Scottish is just the icing on the cake to be honest.... ahhh, the good ol' days, even though, i wasn't born till the naughties, my mind still resides in the electro-pop revolution!

and as for TFF i found this song buried in that back of my phone!!! i couldn't believe it, brings back all the good times, i swear, i'm creating a time machine, and going back in time, I WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

PHWOARR!

I'm sorry, it's not music!

Today, i thought my friends had sense, and don't get me wrong, most of them do, but the select few, seem to think that Metrostation, (famously known for their hit 'Shake it') are good, i'm sorry but seriously.....

it's deafening shitty pop music, and when you look the remains of Ollie Sykes' shits..(Bring Me The Horizon) then you're heading on a downward spiral,

You will have heard the song!

and agreed, if you're completely mortal on a friday night, it will put a wiggle in your step, but as for music quality? it doesn't match, especially, when your sister is Miley Cyrus....

YOU'RE SERIOUSLY FUCKED SON

i'm not even going to put in the myspace link, you're daft if you want to listen to them.....

It's bloody pandemonium!

Marmaduke Duke, are to release their album 'Duke Pandemonium' in early May.....

IT'S LETHAL BROTHERS

and sisters for that matter, JP Reid (sucioperro) and Simon Neil (Biffy Clyro) are bonkers quite frankly. This album is immence, it introduces electro, drum 'n' bass and rock combined! the two Scots are fantastic individually, but when you put them together... PHWOARR! it's like peanut butter and jelly sandwitches..... (Amazingly tasty and a little bit crazy?....)

Rubber Lover has just been released and I highly recommend purchasing the single.... or save up your pennies and get the album (4th May) and after listening to their tunes, check out their wardrobe, christ, it can't be put into words.....

FrankMusik

Last week, i had the honor to Phinterview (phone interview) Vincent Frank 'Frankmusik' the Croydon boy is a canny Gezzar like! Look him up, his unique look at the world of music today is inspiring! he has recently toured the U.K with £20 and his Blackberry check his daily diary entry on his myspace...

http://www.myspace.com/frankmusik

His recent big hit 'better of as 2' is classic, if not a bit poppy. that's what you get when you think up your songs in the shower.... we at LIVE! see a bright future for young Vincent.

Good night out? NOT HERE

Down Hoxton way... lies a small bar.... on every Thursday of the month, you'll find Bastard Batty Bass, not advised, myself and my colleagues had a smashing night, shame the place was shite! too small, no decent tunes..... nevertheless, we didn't stay long enough to witness the deafening dub step.... even though it was recomended..... SNOOZEFEST!

FLYER BY ESKIMOPUSH

Bat For Lashes combined with Bjork.... POSSIBLE?

Your faith of music has been
RESTORED!

You don't see much come out of Yorkshire these days.... but now there's something to wonder about!
www.myspace.com/musicofblueroses

Known for experimenting with instruments that she can't yet play, Blue Roses delivers amazing quality of music... a refreshingly relaxing realm of instrumental harmony, compared to the shit in the charts these days..... i can only compare them to Bat For Lashes (for this time) but believe you me, when you didn't think music could get more melodramatic or more folky... HA!
